This is my website. It doesn’t look like much right now but I still have some time before all my hair turns grey. So if you are interested in me, here is the summary: born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland from an Irish-American Catholic mother and a Turkish Jewish father, I pretty much gave up on identifying with one particular nation/community/ideology from an early age…which turned out to be great.
I left Geneva at age 18 to study at Northwestern University near Chicago, then roamed around South America for about a half a year before realizing I missed the intellectual stimulation of academia. Through a sequence of unexpected events, I ended up in Amsterdam at the Tinbergen Institute. Now, a few years later, I divide my time between the University of Amsterdam, the VU University Amsterdam and any other institution that happens to hold exciting data.
